The green-cloth banner features the name "Harlem Globe Trotters" in gold felt, below which is a patch in the shape of a basketball that reads "Round The World 1952." White felt Japanese lettering is displayed along the base, along with "Mainichi News Papers" in gold felt. 1952 marked the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Harlem Globetrotters and to celebrate the occasion the club embarked on a tour worthy of their name.
