Significant race-worn horseshoe from the thoroughbred who captured the hearts of a generation, the mighty Seabiscuit. The horseshoe has been affixed to a base to create a sparkling ashtray with Sterling stamped underneath. Engraving on horseshoe reads Seabiscuit, Greatest Money Winner of All Time, and engraved on the ashtray is, Worn by Seabiscuit Winning Santa Anita Handicap - 1940 - 1 1/4 Mile Time 2:01 1/5 - New Track Record. Minor tarnish evident which should be easy to polish, classic item from a one-of-a-kind champion. Small by thoroughbred standards, Biscuit's run of victories in the 1930s gave hope and entertainment to a nation recovering from The Great Depression.
