Ticket stub from the 1,991st game in Lou Gehrig's then-record 2,130 consecutive games played streak, signed by Gehrig on the front. PSA has encapsulated the ticket stub and certified both the ticket and the signature as "Authentic." This is the ONLY example of this ticket stub listed in the PSA Population Report. The stub, issued for a game between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox at Comiskey Park on May 21, 1938, has been signed by Gehrig in pencil on the front. Although the signature does not contrast well against the multicolor printing, it is clearly legible and grades 5/10 overall. Gehrig signed tickets are rare. This is the first we have offered and we have seen just a few others at auction. Gehrig had one hit and walked twice in the Yankees' 1-0 victory over the White Sox that day. This is a unique Gehrig signed item, dating from his final full season in baseball, with the added appeal of also relating directly to his historic 2,130 consecutive games played streak, which came to a tragic end just one year later. The stub (1.25x3.25") displays a heavy horizontal crease that just barely touches upon the "L" in "Lou" and is otherwise in Excellent condition.
