A brief glance of this amazing 1951 image makes clear that the Brooklyn Dodgers were not in a celebratory mood. That's because New York Giants' star Bobby Thomson had just belted the "Shot Heard 'Round the World" to win the '51 National League Pennant. Black and white 10x8" photo is very clean with some minor creases and pencil notation on back notes, "A stunned Hodges, a dazed Robinson, and a down-trodden Branca leave field after Thomson's homer in 9th - Oct 3, 1951" above a stamp from the New York Daily News. Pencil notes also indicate the photo was by Seymore Wally.
