Original Type I photograph of Arthur Rostron, Captain of the Carpathia. The photo captures Rostron posing in full uniform on board his ship. Rostron was an international hero after he successfully reached the Titanic and was able to rescue the remaining passengers and crew members. He received the Congressional Gold Medal from President Taft for his efforts and later became captain of the Lusitania. In 1928 he was made Commodore of the Cunard Fleet. Two Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with handwritten editorial notations, including an identifier. The photo measures 4.5x6.25” and displays a few tiny corner creases. EX.
