The 1955 Topps #164 is by far the most sought after card in the famed '55 set and arguably one of the greatest rookie cards to come out of the 1950s. Fresh examples are becoming more and more difficult to come by with authentic signed examples being even scarcer. Hobby fresh and submitted to PSA by Lelands, this Authentic with 7 Auto is one of only nine ever graded by PSA and is as fresh as they come. The card itself is a nice looking example with better than average centering, bright colors and a clean back. The signature on the front of this card was obtained in-person by a New York City autograph hound who has been collecting athletes' autographs since the late 1950s. The signature is as beautiful as it was the day it was signed and is perfectly placed above Clemente's facsimile signature on the card. With Clemente's unexpected passing nearly 50 years ago, signed examples of his 1955 Topps Rookie card are as scarce as they come and is "a must" for any self-respecting signed rookie card collector. Of all of the signed rookie cards in the world, this is arguably the granddaddy of them all.
