An extremely rare box - 1950s Bowman display boxes, especially the 1953 5¢ baseball color box, is as scarce a box as you’ll ever see. Box is in quite fragile condition, held together with clear tape at most points and grading FR-PR, but save for a small section of the left side panel, is COMPLETE. Red and black colors of the box remain strong, as is Joe DiMaggio’s image on the top panel. "1953" is written on the top panel, with "99" and "3" written in crayon on the bottom. Still – when was the last time you saw one available at auction? The lucky winner might consider bringing it to a paper/archival specialist and restore it to its former glory. If you are a display box collector, grab this, you will never regret doing so. Beautiful and rare.
