This captivating Limited Edition portrait of Secretariat is entitled "Royal Heritage." The image originated from a collection of Secretariat photography discovered after more than 40 years in secluded storage. The photos capturing the chestnut champion enjoying life off the track were part of a commercial shoot for a regional advertising campaign following Secretariat's retirement to Claiborne Farm. The full-color 16x20" photo, no longer available for purchase, was produced in a limited-edition run of only 100 total pieces to help fund the effort to preserve and restore the historic barns at the Meadow, Secretariat's birthplace in Doswell, Virginia. This photo emanating from the Secretariat Archives is numbered #29/100, and is further distinguished by being hand-signed by the late "Mistress of the Meadow" herself, Penny Chenery, and Hall of Fame jockey Ron Turcotte. The photo is double-matted in a dark brown hardwood frame displaying 28x24" in total and is accompanied by a solid brass engraved halter tag plate and Certificate of Authenticity.
