This collection of more than 40 original press photos documents some of the most famous Kentucky Derby winners. The collection spans each decade from the 1920s (Morvich, 1922) to the 1980s (Sunday Silence, 1989) and contains rare imagery of some of the Run for the Roses’ most newsworthy headliners, such as Exterminator, Iron Liege, Majestic Prince, and even the controversial disqualified 1968 winner Dancer's Image. Five Triple Crown champions are represented in this offering: Sir Barton, Omaha, Citation, Seattle Slew, and an amazing 20-piece grouping of laser photos focusing on 1978 winner Affirmed. Other Derby winners represented include Cavalcade, Chateaugay, Hill Gail, Hoop Jr., Jet Pilot, Johnstown, Lawrin, Needles, Pensive, and Regret. A wonderful visual history for any racing enthusiast.
