Although the racing origin of this authentic Maryland Million saddlecloth is unclear, there is no question it was hand-signed by five of the most highly respected jockeys in the modern era of racing. The black cotton twill cloth features the hand-signed autographs of Triple Crown winners Jean Cruguet (Seattle Slew, 1977) and Steve Cauthen (Affirmed, 1978), and Hall of Famers Angel Cordero, Pat Day, and Laffit Pincay Jr.
The full-sized cotton twill cloth containing the entry number "6" was signed as part of a joint promotional appearance event during the festivities of the 2012 Maryland Million at Laurel Park. In aggregate, the five legendary jockeys account for seven Kentucky Derbys, nine Preakness Stakes, nine Belmont Stakes, 16 Eclipse Awards, more than 30,000 career wins, and a staggering $638 million in total earnings. A wonderful showpiece for any racing enthusiast.
