Vintage Type I photograph depicts President Herbert Hoover in attendance at the 1929 World Series between the Philadelphia Athletics and Chicago Cubs. Measuring 14x11", the oversized photo shows the president as he sits among a gaggle of dapperly-clad VIPs. There is one vertical fold/tear down the middle which has been repaired with tape on back, and printers' crop marks are evident on front. Verso has stamp from Philadelphia Record, date stamp of October 20, 1929, pencil notation identifying the event, and newspaper clip describing the scene. Photo has several creases and small loss to bottom right corner.
