This is an authentic horseshoe nail pulled from the one of the shoes worn by Curlin during his victory in the 2008 $6,000,000 Dubai World Cup. The nail is one of the remaining 15 original nails from Curlin’s complete horseshoe set that he wore in Dubai and this nail is numbered 9/15. The two-time Horse of the Year was ranked #1 by Longine's as the world's best three-year old in 2007 and was ranked #1 as world’s best racehorse in 2008. Curlin retired as the richest American horse in history and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014. This lot is accompanied by a Letter of Provenance attesting to its authenticity.
