Amazing set worn very early in the career of the legendary Bill Russell - we would wager that his is the finest basketball warm-up on the planet or pretty close. This style was only worn by Russell in 1957-58, odds are it was worn in his rookie season, 1957. Jacket and pants are incredibly beautiful white satin with green and yellow trim, and CELTICS in all green tackle twill lettering across the chest of the button-front top. Pants are same style with broad green and yellow stripes. Jacket has Horace Partridge size 44 X Large tag in collar, all original with green satin 6 on back, original buttons on front; pants have Wilson size 36 tag in waist band and 6 on the left thigh. Russell led the NBA in rebounding in that very first 1956-57 season at just under 20 rebounds per game, touching off an era of Celtics dominance in which they won 11 NBA Championships during his 13 years with Boston and making him one of the winningest athletes in pro sports history. Pants and top show nice use and are also in fantastic condition, tremendous and very rare opportunity to own a piece of the best.
