Authentic sash was worn by James J. Jeffries while entering the ring before a fight. A standout of the early glove era, Jeffries actually left the sport as an undefeated Champion in 1904 before being lulled out of retirement past his prime and falling to Jack Johnson in 1910. Handsome red white & blue sash is artfully placed within a large framed display measuring 31x31” with matted color print of Jeffries above and a plate which reads, “Flag Belt worn by James Jeffries around his waist when he entered the ring.” From the famed Tommy Farmer boxing collection, later obtained by Joel Platt. It is believed that this was once part of the famed Jeffries Barn.
