Unusual artifact sure to rev up race fans in this 1979 John Watson Grand Prix race used nose cone. Fiberglass piece is white and bright red with Watson's number 7 in red-on-black positioned on the white background with no sponsorship present. Tapered white section measures about 14x30x5" while red extensions add around 15x20" on each side. Watson moved to McLaren in 1979, supplying the manufacturer with its first victory in over three years in the 1981 British Grand Prix. This dates from a couple years earlier, when James Hunt's sudden retirement after the Monaco Grand Prix in 1979 left Watson as the only full-time competitive F1 racer of British citizenry. Shows use, in EX-NM condition.
