World War I era Type I 1917 team photo of the Chicago White Sox featuring Joe Jackson. Crowd is scattered behind the dugout while Sox players sit within wearing military uniforms and holding rifles; measures 10x8" with pinholes in corners and some minor fading at left margin. Borrowing on the war theme, amidst the publishers' notations in pencil on back is what looks to be a vintage note in black fountain ink stating, "Chicago White Sox in the Trenches." Also has Burke & Atwell stamp on back, originates from the 1996 Christie's Baseball Magazine auction. Encapsulated as Type I by PSA.
