Original ticket stub from what would prove to be one of the most significant Opening Days in baseball history, as the April 17, 1951, contest at Yankee Stadium marked the MLB debut of Mickey Mantle. This is the torn portion of the stub, which is encapsulated and graded as VG 3 by PSA though the print remains clear and bold and there are no blemishes evident except for very slight paper loss to the bottom rear where the ticket was torn. Only two of these stubs have been graded VG 3 by PSA (including this one), so this presents an exceedingly rare opportunity. Mantle went 1-for-4 with an RBI as the Bronx Bombers topped Ted Williams' Boston Red Sox in a 5-0 shutout.
Note: We were just notified that PSA authenticated another VG 3 example since this was listed. This ticket is now one of the three PSA 3's in existence.
