A dozen members of the 1914 Chicago White Sox and team mascot are the subject of this historic Type III photo, which measures 5.5x8". An idea generated by Sox team owner Charles Comiskey and New York Giants manager John McGraw in a Chicago bar two years earlier saw both teams make off-season stops in China, the Philippines, France, and Australia. Included in the image are Buck Weaver, who would become notorious for the Black Sox scandal just a few years later, and Tris Speaker, who was actually on loan from the Boston Red Sox. Classic image from the Brown Brothers photo collection. Comes with PSA LOA certifying it as Type III.
