Bright helmet game used by one of the legends of hockey, Mario Lemieux, during the 2002 season. White Nike lid shows heavy use with Pittsburgh Penguins logo decal on both sides, with his number 66 and NHL crest decals on back. Some separation of the padding at the left ear, but all padding is present and intact. Nicely signed on top in black Sharpie. This helmet is something of a rarity, as Super Mario returned to the NHL in 2000 after a two-year bout with non-Hodgkins lymphoma and immediately announced a deal with Nike as they were just entering the hockey equipment market. Alas, the Swoosh never took off among hockey players and the deal lasted just three years, after which Lemieux returned to the more traditional CCM brand, making this a fun footnote in a superlative career.
