Amazing historical significance in this hand-drawn astrological chart sewn into Muhammad Ali's ring robe for his 1974 Rumble in the Jungle against George Foreman. As legend has it, the chart itself was drawn onto a white handkerchief by British astrologer Frederic Davies and was sewn into a panel in the hem by the robe's designer, Michael Fish; only the two of them were privy to that knowledge. At the top, Davies has written “ASTROLOGER FREDERICK DAVIES PREDICTS - 1974 WORLD CHAMPION MUHAMMAD ALI - FIGHT ROBE MADE BY MICHAEL FISH AND CHRISTOPHER LYNCH.” Of course this would turn out to be quite the prediction, as the underdog Ali employed the infamous "Rope-a-Dope" strategy to wear down the hard-hitting Foreman before a lightning-fast combination floored him in the eighth round for the knockout. Handkerchief measures 16x16" and with mat and frame is a beautiful 27x27". Just another part of the legend that was The Greatest.
