From the "Chip and Whitey Collection," this letter penned by the notorious Whitey Bulger comes in original envelope signed by Bulger on top left corner with his prison number. Dated Saturday, July 25, 2015, the mob boss took up almost every inch of the two page letter with his handwriting, signing the letter on the front page. In this missive, Bulger is asserting that he is not guilty, which is quite interesting given his track record. He writes: "Starting to get settled down after my stay in isolation. Getting too old for that, 86 (years old) in Sept, and not guilty - but my word has no power over the reports of officer. Don't even like to write about it makes me realize how vulnerable one is if someone takes a personal dislike to you. Wish I had been sent to ADX - all seemed pretty good until this happened - can't get consideration no matter how much I prove my case - frustrating to think that I'm in a place where anyone can accuse me and it sticks - never had this feeling before in any prison - can't shake the feeling that I'm somebody's target. Will fight in courts - have no choice this has been forced on me - in all my life I've never took the stand and testified but in this case I'm forced to. A fight not of my choosing - hard to believe I have gone this far - years ago never heard of such. Kind of a mystery to me - Why? Revenge?" Envelope has 28 Jul 2015 postmark, as well as some adhesive residue from where the mailing label has been removed. PSA ENCAPSULATED.
