Wonderful 1943 handwritten and signed letter (two sides) by William "Dummy" Hoy, who holds the distinction of being one of a handful of players who played in four different Major Leagues and is one of just three outfielders in history to throw out three base runners at home plate in one game. Crisp 6.25x10" bears black fountain pen ink on heavy stock with slight toning, typical mailing folds with no tears or blemishes evident. Comes with original mailing envelope with return address cut out, both pieces rate in NM condition. Hoy writes to a friend for evidence to corroborate his “three-man throw out from the outfield in a game of mine innings in Washington on June 19, 1889.” Comes with PSA certification.
