There was a time back in the 50’s when just about every kid in America would strut around wearing a coonskin cap and buckskin clothes – those were Davy Crockett days! Capitalizing on Davy’s popularity, Topps produced two of the most memorable nonsport sets of the era - Davy Crockett orangebacks, and later greenbacks. Here are high grade examples of each, as follows:
- orangeback complete set of 80: 10% NM-MT, 50% NM, 30% EX-MT, 10% slightly lesser. Card #1 is NM and nicely centered; #80 is EX-MT to NM with a slight crease.
- greenback complete set of 80: 15% NM or better, 35% EX to EX-MT, 35% VG to VG-EX, 15% slightly lesser. Card #1A is PR-FR with creases; cards #2A-8A average VG-EX; card #20A is the error version, EX-MT oc; #80A is VG.
Show your Davy roots and pick up both iconic sets in one shot – and enjoy!
Total: 160 cards.
