Whip used by Fred Webb in 1894 Selection Stakes. Over a century and a quarter of history in this one piece, which measures 35" in length and shows exceptional use. Plate on bottom of whip reads: "Whip Carried by Webb on 'Best Man' in Selection Stakes at Sandown Oct. 19 '94, Beating Avington & Throstle at Weight for Age." Webb was victor in several British Classic races, roughly akin to the events in the American Triple Crown.
