From Jake Flowers coaching career, this game used Pittsburgh Pirates jersey dates from when Flowers was working under his former teammate, the great Frank Frisch. Original zipper front Spalding jersey retains its factory attached Spalding size 44 tag in the collar along with a "Flowers" swatch below. This style of Pirates jersey was introduced in 1942 and simply reads, “PIRATES” across the chest and an “18” on the back; the stars and bars patch was unfortunately removed from the left sleeve at an unknown time. Beautiful jersey overall, the only flaw noticed is some red bleeding onto the white flannel and a few small holes that don't distract from the display value drastically.
