Memorable oil on board of a classic match of the titans of the ring from the television glory years of the 1940s-50s. Features tense match between two wrestlers, one who is undoubtedly the famous wrestler "The Swedish Angel." Marvelous colors, intense actions of a roped ring with referee making his moves and the flashbulbs popping away. A bit like George Bellows on acid. Quality is A-1 and exceptional. Artist signed by who appears to be John Carafeil (we cannot make it out exactly). Original frame, overall 30x39" and one of the best sports paintings we have offered in a while.
