Original Eddie Germano illustration from the Boston Globe Sunday Magazine "Stars on TV" pen and ink original art series. This is a great into to the set of Steve Allen's show, at the Hudson Theatre in New York. Originally called "Tonight Starring Steve Allen," the bespectacled host served from the show's start in 1954 until early 1957, and the show would evolve into "The Tonight Show." Great side notes include one directly from Allen, "Best to all my friends in Boston," (as this was to appear in the Boston Globe, after all), and pencil title on top says, "Live from New York," no less than several decades before it was used on Saturday Night Live. These Germano drawings highlighted upcoming television programs or stars of note, this one measures 12x13.5" with some minor discoloration around edges, in EX condition.
