An impressive collection of genuine 1960s postcards shot by baseball photographer Norm Paulson in the genre of George Burke, George Brace and Jim Rowe, who sold photo examples to players and fans in the earliest days of collecting, often advertising in publications such as Baseball Digest. These cards were puled straight from his file cabinet and obtained directly from Paulson. What makes them unique is that many include the subjects' names typed on letraset, identifying each on the plastic pages, as well as his handwriting on the reverse, for his reference purposes. Some even had a yellow Hall of Fame postcard on the back. This magnificent assortment is unpicked-over, so all the big names are included, such as: Ruth (by Burke, blank-backed, as well as one with the Braves), Wagner (from the original negative), Cobb (2), Gehrig, Foxx, Williams (rookie by Burke), Joss, Paige, Josh Gibson, Buck Leonard, Dean, Ott and Jackie Robinson (rookie pose from negative), just at the top of the iceberg. Tons of Hall of Famers are included, as well as several 1930s players with typed names on the front (unique). Most are by Burke and come directly from the original negatives. Other players of note include: Kiner, Frisch, Bender, Thorpe, Stengel, Herschberger, Greenberg, Rickey, Moe Berg, Furillo and Bithorn. Many of the photos are Type II and culled from the original negatives.
