One year removed from an improbable, worst-to-first ascension in the final month, the defending National League champion New York Mets took a major step back in 1974, posting a 71-91 record. One of their more promising prospects, however, was the power arm of Craig Swan, who would go on to win the National League ERA title in 1978. Here's Swan's rookie year home, button-down, pinstripe jersey from '74 that is all-original and features his number 27 stitched in blue and orange on the left abdomen under the script METS. The number also appears on the back, and the team logo patch adorns the left shoulder. There's a size, year and player number swatch in the collar (46 74 27) and Rawlings Size 46 tag on the outer front tail.
