The definitive Jim Thorpe photo during his historic reign with the Canton Bulldogs. Incredible 5x7" Type II image features Thorpe standing simply with early style helmet loosely dangling from his thick, weathered-looking hands. This image was used for publications as well his key football cards: 1933 Goudey Sports Kings and 1955 Topps All-American. Photo contains some in-painting from publication which slightly enhances the image, rather than detracts from it. Crease to the bottom right, few light scratches, but nothing takes away from the central subject. Culver Pictures Inc. stamping and some glue reside on verso. Best example of this print that we have ever seen. This photo is authenticated and encapsulated by PSA.
