In 1986, through a joint effort between Jim & Sue Nicewander ("The Card Coach") and De-lish-us Potato Chip Co. of Wisconsin, a beautiful set commemorating the 125th anniversary of the American Civil War was produced. Card fronts feature an artist’s rendering of a scene from an important battle or notable event; card backs have an extensive description of what is depicted on the front of the card along with Civil War trivia. For this set, the collection includes: 53 complete, uncut sheets in virtually pristine condition; 14 additional uncut sheets with alternate images for card #15 as well as card #s 4 and 5; original artwork depicting the evolution of card #15 (3 pieces); initial artwork/mockup for card #36 (Grant/Lee), and a workup sheet showing all 36 cards (appears to be shellacked). An interesting look into the development of this popular set. Also includes (126) complete and undistributed sets (EX-MT or better); (100+) Limited Edition Souvenir Sheets; (100+) Civil War Scenes tri-fold pamphlets.
