This Eddie Germano original artwork is from the 1959 Boston College vs. Marquette college football program. The artwork is done in ink and and was featured on the cover of the corresponding game. The artwork has several pencil notations on the margin and is foxed where the protective paper was stored on top, therefore it is in VG condition due to the toning. Eddie Germano was born in Boston on November 15th, 1924. He started working at age 16 for the Boston Post before a stint in the US Army. After the military, Germano worked in several newspapers until 1968 when he joined the Brockton Enterprise where he began a career in sports cartooning. Germano is best known for his Boston Globe work which began in 1971 and he is famous for his sports cartoons featuring Hall of Fame members and Boston area sports icons.
