One of Philadelphia's first real stadiums was located in a residential area at Broad Street and Lehigh Avenue. Built for just $101,000 and to seat 12,500, it was the first home of the Phillies. In 1894, however, the entire stadium except for the brick exterior walls burnt to the ground. Another stadium was built in its place, this time with 18,800 seats. It hosted a number of noteworthy games, including the first World Series with a U.S. president. From the famed stadium seat connoisseur Fred Reber, this one-of-a-kind Baker Bowl Press seat features its original finish, is fully functional and is only missing its front stretcher. The underside is neatly stamped "Baker Bowl Press" in block letters and is as authentic as it gets. One can only imagine how many newspaper men sat in this chair and took in all of the sights and sounds of one of the greatest stadiums baseball ever knew.
