Sources from the estate of Congresswoman Edna Kelly (1906-1997). She served as a member of Congress from 1949-69, representing New York's 10th and 12th Districts. While in Congress, Ms. Kelly served alongside John F. Kennedy from 1949-53, Al Gore, Joseph McCarthy, Hubert Humphrey and others. In 1951 she promoted the first equal pay for equal work bill and she was in attendance when President Kennedy eventually signed the Equal Pay Act in 1963.
