Wonderful lot recently uncovered from the Baltimore area. Rescued from a deteriorating scrapbook, all of these items are from the 1958 NFL Championship. The historic game between the New York Giants and Baltimore Colts that popularized football in America. The program is in splendid condition, with some tape residue on the back cover from being displayed and some writing on the cover and centerfold. The cover has the final score written into the teams' names - Colts 23, Giants 17 - and the center has the score written out along with the notation, "9 minutes of 5th quarter." Two torn ticket stubs are included, and a bag containing, "Goal Post + Padding from Champ Game in N.Y." Played at Yankee Stadium, it was the first ever game that was nationally broadcast and the first to ever go to overtime. It featured 17 players that would be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
