An exceptional recent discovery, this 56x44" tablecloth is believed to represent an early baseball club. Baseballs are embroidered around a diamond centered by baseball bats forming an "A" above a pillbox cap. The design likely relates to the Athletics, and this was all hand-crafted in the 1870s-80s. Included is a letter from an embroidery expert detailing the intricate work that went into producing this piece. While their assessment indicates that it is from "circa late 19th century-turn of the 20th century," we disagree with that assessment based on the look of this very important and early piece. A true work of folk art.
