Offered is the original artwork for National Chicle Dare Devils card #20 – ‘Fire-Eater’s Safe Catch’, showing the bravery and prowess of New York City’s firefighters back in the 1930’s. The image itself is in superb condition with bright, original colors and very little wear. The borders of the artwork show signs of handling and some wear, but with proper framing the artwork will be nothing short of spectacular. The artwork itself measures approximately 4 ½ inches by 5 ½ inches and has been applied by hand on a thick illustration board. The back has very minor paper loss and some stray blue ink marks, but is otherwise clean. An original of card #20 is included, itself in excellent but o/c condition. Original artwork from this popular series is quite difficult to find, with only about 20 surviving examples. Beautiful and rare, add this to your collection!
