Addendum from noted boxing historian Tony Gee: Corbett was not a bareknuckle fighter and most of Sullivan's bouts were actually gloved ones. It would therefore be far more accurate to say that they were a 'couple of the legends of late 1800's boxing', rather than a “couple of the legends of bare-knuckle boxing of the late 1800's."
