Spectacular 11” x 14” George Burke (stamped on the back) matte finish photo of Chuck Klein in his National League uniform from the very first All-Star game in Major League history. A few photos of Chuck have surfaced over the years of Chuck in his All-Star uniform. This image has never been offered before. Players could purchase their portraits from George Burke and we must presume that Chuck must have liked this image of himself. Stellar Type I is as good as it gets.
Fresh to the hobby collection from the family of slugger Chuck Klein. A worthy contemporary of the great sluggers such as Ruth, Gehrig and Foxx, during the late 1920s and early 1930s, his talents were comparable. His credits are staggering: four home runs in one game, 1929 Most Valuable Player Award, one of only six to ever win the Triple Crown (1933), and all this culminating in being inducted to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1980. He was also named one of the 100 Greatest Players of All Time by The Sporting News.
