Impressive Type I photo is mounted on masonite board in original frame. We cannot prove it, but it looks as if it came out of the stadium. All hand done by the photographer Andrew Susty, with his "photo by" stamps on verso. Great lineup that fed the 1969 New York Mets, including Bud Harrelson, and Cleon Jones, plus, Choo-Choo Coleman. Also in the photo is coach Sal Maglie, from nearby Niagara Falls, who pitched for all three New York teams in the 1940s-50s: the Giants, the Dodgers, and the Yankees. The stadium is Buffalo's War Memorial Stadium, for years nicknamed "The Rockpile." Writer Brock Yates once wrote, "Whatever war the stadium was a memorial to looks as if it had been fought within its confines." That rough-and-tumble look was perfect for the hit movie "The Natural," starring Robert Redford, as this film's baseball action was filmed almost entirely at War Memorial Stadium. Great piece. 32.5x38".
