This card is for the advanced type collector. Elsewhere in this auction we are offering N386s in the two typical brands for this rare issue, Plow Boy and Echo cigarettes. Late in 2006 a blank-backed (it had a "D" stamped on it) N386 Sullivan appeared, the stamp likely from a match maker of the era (Diamond). In 2007 a fourth brand, Canada Chop, surfaced on a John L. Sullivan card front with the diamond D stamp. This card is that card from 2007. It has not been offered for sale since (previously sold for $5000) and remains the only known example. The grade on this card is misleading. It was undoubtedly downgraded to a 20 because of the back stamp; that is standard practice at SGC for any post-manufacturing stamp. Besides the stamp, however, the card itself is vg-ex with a great image of Sullivan. Not that grade matters with a card that is the only known example.
