The 1915 World Series saw the Boston Red Sox beat the Philadelphia Phillies by 4-games-to-1. Philadelphia won the first game and then was swept the rest of the Series. The Boston pitching was so strong that young Babe Ruth did not pitch in the Series, and his only appearance in this Word Series was as a pinch-hitter. It would prove to be 65 years before the Phillies would win another World Series game. This was what was given to the press for the games held in Philly. It is missing the red ribbon that would connect the two pieces. Bottom part (0.88" in diameter) retains the original gold finish. Reads, "Philadelphia National League Base Ball Club." Back is stamped "J.E. Caldwell & Co. Phila." Top reads, "World's Series Phila. 1915." With a replacement ribbon this would look great at a fraction of the price of one with the original ribbon.
