1943 Negro League All-Star Game program at Chicago's Comiskey Park. One we have not seen before. Negro League All-Star games began in 1933, and they were always successful events. In this game, the East defeated the West 8-3. The great Buck Leonard homered for the East and Ted "Double Duty" Radcliffe took the loss. Radcliffe was listed as a catcher on the program, but he pitched in relief as he was truly an amazing athlete who regularly both caught and pitched. Incredible cover of Satchel Paige in Homestead Grays uniform. This was a major game at Comiskey Park, hence the high quality of the program. The game drew 50,246 fans. West Stars: Willard Brown, Radcliffe, Paige, F. Bankhead, Duncan. East stars: Josh Gibson, Bell, Leonard, Easterling, Bankhead, Day, Barnhill. Great black advertisements, There is some water damage. Tape is on cover and re-stapled. But all there. Fresh discovery from former Negro League player.
