Extensive and great Mel Ott scrapbook (13x16") came directly from the family. Gem features the New York Giants Hall of Fame outfielder and legend in a photographic history of his prime. Has Ott's formal name, "Melvin OTT," embossed on the cover in gold. 110 pages with 42 photos of various sizes, mostly 8x10" and almost all are Type I. These are photos that were special to Mel and the Family, hence they are best of the best. Many are unpublished and have not been seen before. Includes: most spectacular portrait 11x14" of Ott smirking at the camera appears to be George Burke based on the "Hollywood Glam" manipulation of the negative, 8x10" also by the great George Burke, several World Series wire photos including Ott and Gehrig, Ott and rival manager Joe McCarthy (1936 World Series opening), Ott with his meal ticket Carl Hubbell, images of the 1939 NY World's Fair Academy of Sport with his Giants partners, two during the 1939 centennial celebration in "1876" bib front uniform, 1939 personal snapshot wearing the Charles Stoneham black armband, many super action wire photos, awesome patting portrait wearing centennial patch prominently, mobbed at home plate after beating Reds with homer, 1939 All Star Game, and marvelous and most desired closeup of his batting grip. All this is beautifully interspersed with period newspaper clippings, rotogravures, mag covers and memorabilia. This is "OTT" of this world.
