In the first part of the 20th Century, as the sport of football began growing in popularity, local communities began fielding their own club teams made up from the areas best athletes. Pennsylvania featured a host of very competitive club teams, many of which went all out when it came to recruiting, practice, uniforms, equipment, and presentational items.
The Duquesne Indians produced this fabulous team panoramic photograph after they captured the Championship of Western Pennsylvania in 1922. "Duquesne Indians, Champions 60-70 Class, 1922. Nichols Photo." Wear is evident on the borders but the center is very crisp and clean. Framed 9.5x41.5".
