Delightfully detailed original oil painting of Stan Musial hitting a home Run at the All-Star Game played in New York, at the original Yankee Stadium, on July 13, 1960. The National League won 6-0. This was the second All-Star game played that season. In the first one, played two days earlier, the National League won 5-3 in Kansas City. If you look carefully, you can identify Musial in his St. Louis Cardinals uniform. Yankee Roger Maris was in right field and Mickey Mantle in center field when the solo homer was hit off Gerry Staley. You can see the Red Sox logo on the third baseman, Frank Malzone, a Bronx boy who played the All-Star game in his home borough. One can even notice the exact details in the accurate line-ups depicted on the scoreboard, which shows Willie Mays, in his return to New York, at center field for the National League and Hank Aaron in right. Also included is a booklet featuring other All-star game paintings by the artist, William Barss. Framed at 31.5x41.5". Excellent condition.
