In 1956 Topps decided to produce a set of 60 baseball pins, to complement their flagship set of 340 baseball cards. Comprised of an interesting mix of stars of the day as well as journeymen players, the pins were easily scuffed and are difficult to find in high grade. Additionally, some players were "single-printed" and are particularly difficult to find in ANY grade (Hector Lopez, Chuck Diering and Chuck Stobbs) – all are included here. The key pins grade as follows:
Aaron (EX), Banks (EX-MT), Berra (EX), Diering (EX, light scratch), Kaline (EX+), Lopez (EX), Mathews (EX), Mays (VG), Robinson (EX+), Snider (EX), Spahn (EX+), Stobbs (EX-MT) and Williams (EX). A great collection of baseball nostalgia from 1956!
Total of 60 pins.
