Wonderful find. Signature is 9/10, VERY RARE. When Hall of Famer Ted Williams first came up from the minors to the Boston Red Sox, in 1939, he was known as "The Kid." Twenty years old and skinny, the term fit. Then the season started, and he tore into opposing pitchers and hit .327 with 31 homers. He kept the nickname "The Kid" for awhile, but his great batting earned an additional nickname, "The Spendid Splinter." All-time great Williams hit .344 lifetime, was the last Major Leaguer to hit over .400, and knocked 521 home runs, despite missing almost five full seasons because of military service as a Marine pilot in World Ward II and the Korean Conflict. On signed baseball, printing reads, "Rawlings Official Ball American League Bobby Brown Pres." Williams signed on the sweet spot in bold, neat script in blue ballpoint pen, signing "Ted Williams "The Kid." Great item from a baseball icon. PSA LOA.
