The 1969 season was supposed to be the Reds' final season at Crosley Field, but construction delays led to the team playing part of the 1970 season at the ballpark. On June 24, 1970, the Reds played their last game at Crosley Field against the San Francisco Giants. Bernie Stowe, long-time Reds equipment manager, was of course in attendance and had the opportunity and the forethought to keep and save one of the last balls used in the historic last game at Crosley. Official National League ball shows lots of use and has "The Look." Written in blue, the ball reads "One Of The Last Balls Hit At Crosley Field 1970 June 24" as well as "Stowe" in black ink. We're unsure as to who hit this ball but nonetheless, it's a real nice piece of Cincinnati Reds history.
