Marvelous multi-dimensional kinetic art by innovative sculpture/painter Frederick Prescott. A self-taught artist who has been working with metal since he was six years old, Prescott uniquely cuts, bends, and welds steel into moving metal. He has created pieces for Walt Disney, Porsche, and the Chicago Bulls, among many others. He mixes the realistic with the fantastic, and both sculpts and paints his creations. This baseball piece has a generic batter, in colorful light blue and white pinstripes, that moves as he swings a larger than life-sized bat, and the batter and bat move. The work also features a catcher, umpire, and a background crowd. All the painted personages are in bright colors. Measures roughly 28x20X8.5". Steel Construction with welded joints. Two pieces (batter and base with pitcher). Limited 17 of 60 produced in 1990 by Prescott Studios.
